Curious about pitch mixes and ratings in '27

More just a question regarding an observation I've made in '27. Starting a sim in 1981, I've noticed the pitch mixes and their subsequent ratings seem quite different from '26.

For example: In 1981 in game, Nolan Ryan's worst pitch is his fastball, Valenzuela's worst pitch is his screwball and Gooden's best pitches are changeup/slider and not fastball/curveball.

I know that in game it's more about the sum of all these pitches not single pitches but it just seems odd that the ratings at least wouldn't be switched from Circle Change being Ryan's best pitch to his fastball.

Is this due to some in game changes that need to reduce the fastball rating for some reason? Just curious since the pitch mixes of these historic players and their ratings seem pretty different from previous versions.

Creating a fresh league skeleton in '26 and then porting that over to '27 didn't alter any of these ratings/pitch types so I'm assuming it's not something inherent in '27 ratings-wise. Interesting because it seems so vastly different creating the same league in '26 vs '27 w/r/t to this stuff but porting it over doesn't alter anything. The pitch types in '26 seem much more aligned with history on league creation than '27.

It doesn't matter. It has nothing to do with outcomes.

But doesn't it matter if changeups which notoriously never really developed in previous iterations, vs fastballs which do seem to develop quickly are reversed despite someone IRL having a good fastball...that would hinder overall stuff dev I would think, if the pitch type potentials got swapped for no reason.

Are you playing development only, recalc only, or with both on?
