Hey everyone! This thread is going to serve as a way for everyone here at the forums to get a taste of the content to come every week in Perfect Team 27! These are copied over (with permission) from our content director Paul Sporer's weekly previews on our Discord server! There's a lot of info in each one, and my goal is to get these in near the beginning of the week every week during the cycle into this one thread. Please help keep me accountable on this, because my memory tends to be terrible sometimes, lol.

Content Overview for PT27 and Week of March 16th Plan

If you missed my stream last week, I covered the content plan in detail about what to expect and when to expect it (See the pics below). The tiers are going to have more specific themes and a cadence to their releases that will allow you to play at a pace of your choice. I also covered the various ways cards will come out over the course of a given week and then I included a sample monthlong overview with some general numbers. This plan will start in earnest in April, but we will still have content over these first two weeks leading into the season including our very first TWIPT this week featuring the WBC

!!

In fact, let's take a look at how this week will go:

CONTENT SCHEDULE FOR THE WEEK OF MARCH 16TH

It's the first full week of content for PT27!!

Monday

Limited Editions - Our first LEs of the year will be out later today featuring an 80-copy, 80 OVR David Aardsma, the first guy in the MLB player dictionary feels like a fitting first LE and he'll be joined by a 97-copy 48 OVR Ron LeFlore who had an amazing story going from prison to MLB that Jeff Pearlman did a great video on today. Look for these in the shop later!!

Wednesday

Clubhouse – We'll have our first player cards in the Clubhouse this week - 1 per tier for a total of 6.

Thursday

TWIPT – The debut TWIPT set will show off our new partnership with the World Baseball Classic including exclusive art! The set will feature stars from WBCs past plus some 2026 flavor as Tuesday's final is lined up to be electric. Check out tonight's Italy-Venezuela game to see who the USA will face on Tuesday.

Friday

Future Legends Friday – The first FLF will feature prospects from the Fangraphs Top 100, including at least a pair of Top 20 players!

Good afternoon! We've got an impromptu St. Patty's Day mini-drop coming out later featuring PT fan favorite Curry Foley and the first two variant boosters of the year! The art team was able to turn this around quickly by green-ing up the base art to give it a little holiday flavor. Available soon in packs!

Per our Content Director, Paul Sporer, we expect the first batch of Clubhouse Shop cards to come out before 8 p.m. ET tonight, March 18. Once the rhythm of the season begins, we will do our best to give a consistent time window during which to expect Clubhouse Shop cards on the Wednesdays they come out.

The first Clubhouse Cards

of the cycle available in the Clubhouse Shop are now here, celebrating the recently-completed World Baseball Classic!

The new cards are:

Clubhouse - World Baseball Classic 98 OVR SP Marcus Stroman USA 2017
Clubhouse - World Baseball Classic 88 OVR 1B Luis Arraez VEN 2026
Clubhouse - World Baseball Classic 78 OVR 2B Javier Baez PR 2023
Clubhouse - World Baseball Classic 68 OVR SP Chien-Ming Wang TPE 2013
Clubhouse - World Baseball Classic 58 OVR SP Samuel Deduno DR 2013

Balentien is known for his HR prowess in the Japanese League, clubbing 60 in 2013. In the 2017 WBC, he ripped 4 in 7 gms with a .615/.677/1.115 line!

Stroman was the MVP of the 2017 WBC, shutting down Puerto Rico w/6 no-hit IP in the finale!

Arraez has been a different man in the WBC, hitting 2 HRs in each of his 2 appearances (2023, 26) giving him 4 in 49 PA; he hits ~7 per 162 GAMES in MLB.

Baez has been solid in both of his appearances (2017, 23) and has also run against type with an 88 AVK for a guy usually know for his free-swinging ways.

Wang consistently proved you didn't need Ks to succeed, netting just 3 in 12 scoreless IP using his bowling ball sinker to make it almost impossible to hit a HR.

Deduno was far from the biggest name on the DR's team in 2013 but he was huge for them, allowing a single run in 13 IP with 17 Ks.

As a note: There will be NO VARIANTS of Clubhouse cards in the Clubhouse this year (Paul changed this terminology to leave open the possibiity of the Variant Live Complete being in the Clubhouse or things of that nature). Paul says he will be making the cards stronger so they can compete, but now you don't have to worry about buying a base with a variant close behind. If you like a guy, get him!

FRIDAY

Future Legends Friday - The 2nd FLF featuring prospects from the Fangraphs Top 100 will have its own Opening Day flavor.

NOTE REGARDING FLF SCHEDULING: I don’t want to be letting y’all down with missed deadlines and as such, I’d like to open FLF scheduling to the weekend. Fridays can get really hectic heading into a weekend and part of the FLF plan is to be flexible for call-ups and things of that nature so I won’t always have the players locked 100% before a given Friday (as that also happens to be a popular day for call-ups with new series starting, often after a Thursday off-day). I will offer clarity of whether it’ll be Friday or the weekend on a given Friday, it won’t just be randomly dropped out of nowhere. I hope this doesn't impact too much of your decision making, but it will really help me make sure you guys are getting the best cards possible.

While they will not be available in packs, they are draft eligible in Perfect Drafts, so you could get a chance to use them!

In addition to Future Legend Fridays, we also kick off the next installment of our Baseball Reference Series with a little bit of Opening Day flair!

In packs now is 98 OVR LF Tyler O'Neill from the 2021 St. Louis Cardinals, who hit a home run in a record six consecutive Opening Day games (2020-2025) for his teams! That streak, unfortunately, was broken yesterday in the Orioles' 2-1 win over Minnesota, but the streak is immortalized with a very powerful card with fantastic defense and great speed!

Limited Edition Monday – This week’s Limited Edition rollout will feature an array of Julio Francos. The fan favorite infielder played in MLB from 1982 (age-23) to 2007 (age-48) and even logged 30 PA in United League independent ball at age-55! Look for those by 7 p.m. CT (8 p.m. ET) this evening!

Apologies for the lateness of this; work has been extremely busy and I just now have free time to post this!

From March 30, we have a Limited Edition Collection for Julio Franco, a 23-year veteran who won 5 Silver Sluggers, made 3 All-Star teams (winning MVP in one), and the 1991 Batting Champion (.341). He had one of the most imitated swings in baseball history and played forever! Learn more about Franco's career in this excellent video by Jolly Olive on YouTube!

Happy April Fool's Day!

Our 4th year of celebrating the holiday brings us a set of same-named players who aren't related with lower tier (Giancarlo bronze) or unexpected versions (Mets Pedro) of the star in the pairing (though some pairings were close on talent and didn't have an obvious better player). I also made 4 Bob Millers, all pitchers, all 69 OVR! The art team also transferred Paul's dog Charlotte into our court jester conducting this April Fools' Prank with some amazing art!!

The cards are all in the Clubhouse now, including a few discounts from previous releases (Balentien, Stroman, Deduno, and the Artifact Pack all got a discount). Enjoy!

THURSDAY ��TWIPT - We'll celebrate Opening Day/Weekend in this week's TWIPT, highlighting some of the best opening performances over the years! FRIDAY Future Legends Friday - The 2nd FLF featuring prospects from the Fangraphs Top 100 will have its own Opening Day flavor. NOTE REGARDING FLF SCHEDULING: I don’t want to be letting y’all down with missed deadlines and as such, I’d like to open FLF scheduling to the weekend. Fridays can get really hectic heading into a weekend and part of the FLF plan is to be flexible for call-ups and things of that nature so I won’t always have the players locked 100% before a given Friday (as that also happens to be a popular day for call-ups with new series starting, often after a Thursday off-day). I will offer clarity of whether it’ll be Friday or the weekend on a given Friday, it won’t just be randomly dropped out of nowhere. In addition to Future Legend Fridays, we also kick off the next installment of our Baseball Reference Series with a little bit of Opening Day flair! In packs now is 98 OVR LF Tyler O'Neill from the 2021 St. Louis Cardinals, who hit a home run in a record six consecutive Opening Day games (2020-2025) for his teams! That streak, unfortunately, was broken yesterday in the Orioles' 2-1 win over Minnesota, but the streak is immortalized with a very powerful card with fantastic defense and great speed! Apologies for the lateness of this; work has been extremely busy and I just now have free time to post this! From March 30, we have a Limited Edition Collection for Julio Franco, a 23-year veteran who won 5 Silver Sluggers, made 3 All-Star teams (winning MVP in one), and the 1991 Batting Champion (.341). He had one of the most imitated swings in baseball history and played forever! Learn more about Franco's career in this excellent video by Jolly Olive on YouTube!
