Hiring Staff

Guessing there was a rework to staff contracts? I used to be able to offer staff 70% or so of asking and they would accept. Now I can't even offer asking price with them coming back with "Give me more money or I'll go work for the Dodgers"

Anyone else figured out a rhyme or reason in hiring staff?

There's something funky going on between what their demands are and what they'll actually accept.

I'm seeing some coaches ask for more money even after offering them exactly what their demand is and no other team trying to sign them. Then their demands increase for the next offer.

I had a scout in July reject me 3 times, with rising demands each time, before he would finally sign for nearly twice what his initial demand was. I went commish snooping after the 2nd rejection, no AI was trying to sign them, it was the middle of the season.

Yeah, I get what they're doing as it was way too easy to hire elite staff throughout your system. Now if you want to do that as a strategy it's going to cost you. You're right though, It's annoying when they post their salary demand and you offer it and they want more money. They need to adjust the process.

What difficulty level are you guys playing on? Wondering if that's the new normal mode. (Majors default)

I've got mine at the default.

I noticed this as well. Hiring staff is definitely messed up right now. Regardless of which staff I offer (average or above average), they want almost double their current salary. Is there an explanation for why it is this way now?

Same for me on the default setting. Had some huge increases in the demand after I offered exactly what they were asking.
