Feeder Leagues

Am I missing something, or is the creation of feeder leagues currently not working? I can't create High School, College, or Junior College leagues at the moment.

I'm able to create a Feeder League without issue. Are you potentially in a part of the season where creating feeders might not be available? What is preventing you from adding one (i.e. is it disabled, receiving an error, etc.)?

It was in the setup screen. I set up an MLB setup with Tournament leagues fine, then I wanted to add an NCAA D-1 setup, a Junior College Setup, and a HS setup (abstraction). When I tried to create a college feeder league, it simply did nothing. Then I tried to create a full system - still nothing. Finally I tried to jury rig it by creating an independent league as a college league, and that didn't work either.

Sorry for the double post - I just figured out part of the problem. The feeder leagues are being created and showing up as Current Feeder Leagues (MLB College), but they aren't registering on the left-hand panel, and I can't click on them to edit them.

I don't think this was a purposeful change, it seems like a bug to me. At least, I hope so as it doesn't make sense to not show the feeder leagues from the left menu after they've been added.

I just posted something on the Technical Support forum

I have now tested this several times, and each time the game will create a feeder league that lists under the draft section of the league that it is supposed to feed into, but no league appears in the left-hand menu for editing purposes.

Feeder leagues can still be added through the in-game editor once the game is launched, and edited that way, but that method is clunky at best. They cannot be edited from the league creation screen.

I've also tried creating college and high school leagues using the guided method, but college and high school are not options for leagues under those settings - you can only create major, minor, international, independent, and tournament leagues that way.

There is a way that works. If you create an independent league in the editor, then select that it feeds into the major or fictional league, the editor allows it; but that requires you to set the age limits and other restrictions of college or high school ball manually for each individual feeder league (which is a pain when I'm trying to recreate real-world college ball and at least a version of HS ball).

Looks like the fix for this didn't make it into patch 27.1.44

It's interesting/surprising this isn't getting much attention as it will affect anyone creating a league with a feeder(s). Is there a workaround I'm not aware of besides saving the league and then having to edit everything post-creation?

Not that I've yet seen. Feeders have always been a problem in OOTP, since the game engine doesn't handle a real-world setup well (too many good prospects). They've always been designed as an abstraction. But with the new advanced stats, I was hoping to have feeder leagues that would create a history for prospects as well as major league players. That information would be huge for drafts in particular.
