Advanced Stats Are Off
I checked some of the new advanced stats with how they compare with real life and found quite a few that are quite off. Can these be adjusted? I didn't check every stat, but a few examples are below.
xWOBA for hitters too low In real life in 2025, 47 players with more than 400 plate appearances had .350 or above xwOBA In OOTP, 11 Players with more than 400 plate appearances had a .350 or above xwOBA Actual wOBA was a little bit off, but not too bad. In real life, 47 players with more than 400 PA had a wOBA of more than .350. In OOTP, 30 players with 400 PA had a wOBA of more than .350. EV way too low In real life, 114 players with 400 plate appearances had an exit velocity of 90 or better. In OOTP, 1 player with 400 plate appearances had an exit velocity of 90 or better. In OOTP, the leader led with a 91.2 EV. In real life in 2025, this would be tied for 51st. Hard Hit Rate too low In real life in 2025, 50 players had a hard hit rate of 50% or above. In OOTP, 0 players had a hard hit rate above 41.7% In OOTP, 20th in hard hit rate was 32%. In real life in 2025, you would have to go down to 192nd to find a rate that low. xERA too low In real life in 2025, 38 pitchers that had at least 150 balls in play had an xERA of 3.00 or less. In OOTP, 126 players had an xERA of 3.00 or less Those are the main ones I've noticed so far. I'm really glad these numbers are in the game, even if they aren't as meaningful as they would be in real baseball, but it would definitely help immersion if these were adjusted. |
