Too easy to get a good job?
Curious why it is so easy to get a managing job in OOTP26. I created a new manager, and had a middling first couple of seasons. But when I check on the "Available Jobs" screen, many of the top jobs in the whole universe are available. If I click on them, I automatically get the job. What??
There is no way those clubs would want me at that point. I haven't proven myself at all. They should be laughing at me for applying. Maybe I am missing a setting (I am not in commissioner mode when I play) but I would love the challenge of "start at the bottom, see if I can work up to a top level job" thing without the game gifting me the best jobs or me having to implement house rules before I take a job. Also, I know if I quit my job, other clubs will come calling to see if I am interested in joining them. Does this happen while I have a job or just when I am unemployed? This is an area of the game that could be improved a lot. I love this aspect of playing college basketball sims -- at the end of the season, it was always a thrill to see who was going to offer me a job to advance my career. Would it be my dream program?

I would venture a guess that a lot of people who play the game just want to manage their favourite team and not go through the hassle of starting at the bottom. Probably why it's easy to get a choice job.
Of course nothing is stopping you from applying for a minor league job and working your way up through the ranks. |

Often times starting a new save you can get MLB offers right off the bat. I got one from the Angels (although that was probably some classic Moreno incompetence hiring an 18 year old). But usually I take a KBO offer and move to the majors as soon as I can (usually after a year).

There's a new difficulty setting coming in 27, this sounds like a PERFECT addition to it as an optional setting.

While this is true and makes sense -- with so much emphasis on the importance of "immersion" ya'd have to agree this takes away from it? House rules and all that? Gives the game a certain status or stature when you don't have to apply house rules. Carry on.

Got hired by the White Sox right after winning the KBO chip in 2025. Jerry thankfully died, although his ratings were kinda good, but he got replaced by his son Todd, who is what I expected from Jerry. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
