When steam is closed on the computer, logging into PD/Tourneys closes the game

When steam is closed on the computer, logging into PD/Tourneys closes the game instantly. Happens 100% of the time for me.

I frequently switch between laptop and desktop and steam has quite some issues when trying to manage that already. But I've recently started doing perfect drafts and noticed the game crashing/closing itself after logging in if I have steam closed. If I have steam opened but I'm not logged in to steam (because playing on another computer forces it to log out) OR if I closed steam after logging into OOTP, then sometimes the game crashes after I finish a perfect draft.
