How to Prevent Fictional Players in Historical League
I'm trying to do a Historical game starting in 1901. 1901 gets imported to their real teams and then drafts every year thereafter.
I set it up in career mode as I am using development engine since I don't mind the bit of unknown. I am not in charge of a team but just a watcher. I went thru creation and it created MLB and some leagues under it. I stuck with whatever leagues it defaulted to. My problem is that I seem to get too many fictional non-historical players show up after some time. I've been thru the settings and can't seem to stop it no matter my settings. Is it possible to not have fictionals at all? |

If you haven't enabled fictional players, they shouldn't be appearing. I guess, try again and make sure you don't accidentally select any of the fictional players options.

It sounds like you might have real minor leagues on? Can you provide an example of what you believe to be a fictional player? They might be guys that played in the real life minors?

Thinking Rain King is probably right, but another thing you want to look at is under the rules menu. Under the amateur draft section, make sure the box saying "disable automatic creation of free agents and fictional draft class" box is checked.

Answers to the questions raised:
The league does have AAA, AA, and BC leagues attached to the MLB but none of them are affiliated leagues. International League, New England League, Pacific Coast League, etc. I do have the Disable Automatic Creation of Free Agents and Fictional Draft Class. I have set the drafts for 6 Rounds and it changes Import Players for X Rounds to be Default (8). I'll go to some players and when you look at the Real Life Stats tab there will be no stats. Does that mean they are fictional or am I not reading into that correctly? |

Go to the Player Editor page of an "unknown" and tell us if the Historical Minors ID is a populated field. If it is populated, it is a real player.

The minor leagues are not affiliated in the early years, they are independent.
On the Real Stats page, to see minor league stats you would need to make sure the drop-down does not just have the Major League level visible. I can't remember exactly how it is labeled, but there should be an option to display stats from all levels. |

Oh wow! Thank you for the tip! I never looked at the Player Editor to see that! I always looked at like Player Search & Shortlist and added Historical ID to the view and saw a bunch with no Historical ID. I didn't realize there is a whole separate field for Historical Minors ID since that isn't part of customize view for Player Search & Shortlist.
