OOTP 6.5 license not working
I am in the process of trying to convert one of my older leagues from 6.5 up to the latest version. When I try to license the software I get a -3 error. I've reached out to eLicense with no answer and it appears their servers have been down for some time. How do I go about getting it working when the license servers are down? This is one of the reasons why I'm not a huge fan of copy protection. Unfortunately, many of the sim software packages that I own use the eLicense system. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks
I couldn't find a 6.5 forum so decided to post this message here. I have also reached out to support to get some help, hopefully someone will answer. |

Go to this site and get each version from 7 to 13 from here:
http://ootpdevfiles.com/ootp/ Then get every game type from version 14 to 25 here: https://www.ootpdevelopments.com/ootp-prior-version/ Version 26 is still here on a sticky: https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...lay.php?f=4070 You are not going to be able to activate your game. eSellerate is dead and gone. If it is active, great, you can keep playing but no one is going to activate it on the other side. You want to install version 7. See if there is an import game option on the Main Screen (should not need to activate it) and then import the save to version 7. Then install version 8 and repeat. Walk it up al lthe way to version 26 using this process of importing from the main screen without actually playing it (and thus needing a license). When you get to 26 you should have the game walked up to the current version. To play it, you will need a license for OOTP26 but it's the end of the develoment cycle so it is probably cheap.

Another question for you, if you don't mind. Is there any possible way for me to get my history from 6.x up to the latest version? I've read that Larry Anderson had a program called AU6XHistory that would do it but that website is gone and it looks like it was only an online app. Can I do this with Catobase or something else? Thanks again! |

The history should walk up with the rest of the game assuming we are talking about the same thing - league history, player history, etc. Then again, maybe it's so far back a version it doesn't carry forward (since you indicate there were outside tools for this)? I can't recall a time when it didn't but it's been a while since 6.5. That was the first one I played.
