Zipped Folders

Good morning,

Brand new to this community. Researched a bunch but cannot find the answer. I downloaded OOTP 26 to my PC this morning. After several tutorial videos and reading, I cannot add photos to the default_data folder. All the folders in the default_data folder are zipped and cannot be altered. Can anyone help me?

Is it a PC or Mac? Also, to clarify, you downloaded photos from a mod and are having trouble loading them. The game can't read zips and in the photo folder it cannot read subfolders. Did you see this video wrt photos?
