Training programs

i am playing a custom game, just as the GM. I have the settings as add nhl and ahl, with initial draft and fictional players.
i havent set any of the organizations positions, but when i try to pick the training programs preseason, the are already chosen and there are no "Cancel" options. what am i missing or doing wrong?
Also are the nhl waivers on the same page of mine?

Under the 'Manager Options' do you have setting training assigned to yourself or to the AI (aka the HC) ?

Is there a way to assign the training programs without having to manage all of the training? The default training is a pain to manage so I’ve let the AI manage it but the training programs are something I’d like to assign.
