Summit Series causing problem with my team: not enough players

The year is 1972. The Summit Series is going on as The Pre-season is starting. Why is the Summit Series happening at same time as the pre-season? I have numerous spots available in my starting roster and can't proceed with the game since the players are in the Summit Series? This needs to be fixed. I spent a lot of time on this sim, started in 69 and played out each game for the Bruins and I don't feel like starting over. Frankly, I think it is oversight that this series should be running at the same time as the pre-season. I don't remember this happening in previous versions.

I have started a workaround. I sent some players on the Summit to the AHL then back the NHL. I don't know if this will screw up the sim for the Summit. We will see. Is there a button to turn off these series to avoid these conflicts?

Beatle, there is nothing wrong with this. This is EXACTLY what happened in 1972. Your issue then is you didn't sign enough players to your team. You have a farm team for a reason. Call players up. Sign others. Your preseason team does not need to reflect your season team.

Yeah i get this, but its annoying, i would like to be able to set the dates of international events, or remove them. Couple of things we can't edit, is playoff start dates and international events, for those of us that like historical with a few tweaks
