Question about QuickStarts and new patch

So 4 or 5 days ago I set up a new game but didn't get a chance to play it yet. There has been since a new game patch that seems to have fixed an issue with the AI signing and releasing a bunch of players. I'm assuming this patch will not apply to my current game. If it doesn't if I save this game as a QuickStart then start a new game with said quickstart will that then allow to to play the game with the new patch?

patches are usually save game compliant.

just note though that the patch hasn't been officially released yet. it is available via steam to choose to install ( see instructions in beta patch thread)
