Stats only?

Over the years a number of people here have said how much they prefer stats-only play. I tried it a few times, and the deal-breaker for me was that playing without ratings and with stats only leaves big empty spaces on the player screens where ratings would normally be.

I always thought a good solution would be to have player screens default to a different look for stats only play, a screen that shows additional stats where the ratings would ordinarily be. I don't know how difficult it would be to implement this.

Does OOTP26 do a better job than previous versions of making stats-only play aesthetically pleasing?

Having more power over the customization of our glorified spread sheets would be nice. As a "mostly" stats-only player, I agree with you.

How does stats only work?, I tried it once. I had players playing out of position, and I was stealing with bad baserunners. I turned off all ratings. Did I do something wrong? For me, playing without ratings does not make sense, again for me. I look at ratings as a scouting report on the player, like they use in real life. I am open-minded, so maybe someone can enlighten me. Thanks.

Most stats-only players I know (myself included) will play with the "other ratings" turned on. This includes ratings like speed, fielding, and stamina, playing without these doesn't really make sense because the stats aren't good enough to pick these up very well.

Yes, I agree it would be nice to custom the player page. We can customize the look of a lot of other pages, it's surprising we can't do that for the player page.

Do you know if playing with "other ratings" turned on in OOTP26 looks different from what it looks like in earlier versions? I'm tempted to buy 26 because of the sale, if "stats-only plus other ratings turned on" doesn't look too weird.
