Should I be using this player as a two-way player?
Generally, I try to avoid doing this, especially if they're prospects moving through the system. I prefer them to work on one aspect unless they're truly elite on both sides of the ball.
So Guevera has developed into one of my top two pitchers. I let him develop mostly as a pitcher, and he was able to advance quickly to the Majors. Now he's established and is locked to a pitcher only, but he still has these other skills. Should I stick with pitcher only or try mining that talent? He may be an upgrade over my current 2B.

I think he has enough bat/glove to give you value as a 2-way player. Might be touch to judge if he has had very few ABs and innings in the minors but I would give it a whirl. If you are worried about his pitching suffering then just have a very short leash on the experiment

I was thinking of enabling two-way play and using him for occasional starts and back-up duty to see what happens.

I would be very cautious, because I don't know how the game engine will deal with a SP who appears as a 2B or other field positions, in terms of fatigue and risk of injury.

you could put him in the rotation and then set him as DH, like the normal ohtani-style setup. but have him as a backup option at 2B/3B/SS so he gets some reps there. then you could set his backup frequency in a way to avoid his scheduled start day, like every 6th at 3B, etc.
if you do daily lineups though, it would make it much easier to micro manage his playing time around his SP games. |

I would use him as a SP and the right-hand size of a platoon at 3B, LF, or 2B.

He can play 4 days a week in the field and pitch 6 innings without issue. I tried a couple seasons to rest him the day before and after he pitches but noticed there was no difference to his 'rest' percentage as a SP or 2B. Meaning if he was 95% as a 2B, he'd be 95% as a SP. As long as he wasn't tired as a position player he was fine as an SP.
