GM recommending AWFUL trades
What is the deal with this? I'm getting offered a 1/2-star, 23yo reliever for a 23yo 3-star prospect, and a 20yo 3-star prospect, and my GM says, "This is a really good deal for us."
I rarely take the GM's advice for this reason, but this is ridiculous. I replaced my last GM for the same sort of thing, thinking it was a personnel issue. I know I can go in in commish mode and alter this, but it doesn't seem to be restricted to this one GM. Is this just a flaw of the "ai," or is something else afoot?

Case in point.
Brandol Perez proposes the following trade: The Chicago Cubs would send 19-year old minor league RHP Rodolfo Ramirez to Boston Red Sox, getting 26-year old minor league RHP Austin Ledbetter and 22-year old minor league RHP Jared Mancini in return. Assistant GM Craig Breslow says: "What's not to like about this trade? " You have 14 days to complete or reject the trade. Use the controls in 'Respond to Message' above. The offered player has 2-star potential (.5/2). Ledbetter is 2.5/2.5 and Mancini is 2.5/3. In what universe is this a good trade?

I generally ignore all asst GM feedback on trades. I'm pretty sure they are getting kickbacks from the opposing team!!
It is awful. Only one in a blue moon is a "good trade" good to them. Slightly better on terrible trades, but still not good. |
