Lost my 1-1 pick due to glitch

In my current save, I received the No. 1 overall pick. I made the pick and then was debating a few players for my second pick, but after viewing a few profiles I accidentally clicked the back button one too many times, and it went back before I had drafted the first player. So I clicked "draft player" thinking it would just draft him first overall again, no harm no foul.

Instead, it showed as having drafted him with my *second* pick. The players I was considering drafting with my second round pick then showed up for my next pick, showing as the third round.

I continued with the draft, signed all the players, received notice I'd signed all the players and they showed up in my system. The 1-1 pick I had in High-A by September.

Except that I then received a message that I'd failed to sign the 1-1 player and would be getting no comp pick because I didn't offer him a contract! He then disappeared from my system. I don't understand how this happened as I explicitly got a message saying I signed the player and he was in my system for two months before he disappeared.

Definitely think this needs to be fixed for what happens if someone accidentally goes back too far during the draft.
