Unrealistic Fluke Injuries

Well… any time I get mad at OOTP for an “Unrealistic” player injury, I can now watch this video of Ryan Weathers getting smacked in the head and be at peace when one of my players randomly gets a concussion.

Dennis Martinez got injured picking up his own luggage.

Moises Alou missed an entire year re-injuring his knee by running over his son with a bike.

I'm sure there are others I can't think about on top of my head.

Jeremy Affeldt cut his hand slicing apart frozen burgers, and IIRC hurt his knee playing with his kids. I think Matt Cain cut his hand making sandwiches, the Giants should have just hired chefs to visit these guys.

Madison Bumgarner and Jeff Kent totally didn't get hurt riding their motorbikes, Kent was really washing his truck for sure totally no way anything else happened.

Yoenis Cespedes broke his ankle stepping in a hole while getting a wild boar out of a trap.

Chris Brown "slept on his eye wrong".

Rich (later Dick) Allen seriously injured his right hand and wrist while pushing a stalled car by cracking the headlight. He severed tendons and lost the ability to throw properly; although he could still hit, once he fully recovered. He came back too early, played LF, and SS Bobby Wine (who had a phenomenal arm) would run out into the OF when the ball was hit to Allen, who would lob it to him.

Glenallen Hill, when with the Jays, had an extreme case of arachnophobia and on one terrifying night, the eight-legged creatures came after him in a dream. Hill, in a semiconscious state, jumped out of bed and ran into another room -- crashing through a glass table and suffering bruises on his feet, legs and elbows. He was placed on the 15-day DL the following day.
