Move from 25 to 26?

I play every game,one pitch mode with the current Reds team.
I bought 26 when it came out but have been waiting until my current season ended before importing to 26.
However there seems to be a lot of negative comments about 26.
I’d be grateful to hear opinions about whether I should import to 26 or stay with 25.

A lot of negative comments on 26? you mean like the tons of negative comments there were about 25 and 24? It's just normal on these forums that the loud complain about the game but this game has been fine and ready to play since like 3 patches ago.

Most of the complaints are by people that do not understand the game changes that were made and do not seem to read the patch notes as they come out.

I have been playing a long term save based off of the new off-season start option of 2024 and the game has been playing just fine and development and aging are 1000% better than 25.

AND TBH, go on reddit and read comments there, when reddit does not complain about the game, then there is something very right about the game. I have seen probably 75% less bad posts on reddit this year than I did compared to OOTP 25 at this time last year.

I imported my v25 game into v26 and am playing without issue. I also play out all of my games in one pitch.

I'd tend to agree with Twins_34 on changes from v25 to v26 not being understood. (not by everyone but by many). Players are being displayed on a more realistic ratings scale meaning they don't look "as good" and may be bunched up more towards the middle of the scale, but they still produce as one would expect in my experience.

Another thing about "slow" players like you and me that play out all games is problems that may occur in a long term 50 to 100 year sim we will never see. I don't know about you but my game has been imported from v4 all the way to v26. Playing out all games I will get in from two or three seasons per version. Problems that take 10 or 20 seasons to show up in v26 I will never see. Instead I will import into v27 with whatever changes/corrections/fixes that includes.

At the end of the day you'll have to read the complaint threads and decide for yourself. Me? I've read complaints for every versions from v4 to v26, still imported my game every year and have yet to have a game breaking issue.

Thanks for asking the question - I bought pre-release and have also been waiting.
Thank you for all of the thoughtful answers to the original question too.
I will also be moving from 25 to 26 this week as a result.
