Smile OOTP Patch Released: 26.4.61

I hope everyone is doing well.

We are ready to release the next patch for OOTP 26, 26.4.61. This adds some good changes, and we hope that this will help everyone run smoothly. We always welcome feedback, and will continue to fix reported issues and adjust any other balance that we see is needed.

Update Info for our webstore customers: To apply the update, simply download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course. Updates always contain all the changes from previous updates. Saved games are compatible between different versions. Steam users the update should apply automatically when you next load up the game.

  • Clarified coach relationships on player development screen
  • Added draft combine info to mock draft screen
  • Fixed Park Editor crash when viewing modded parks
  • Fixed some extra memory usage after playing out games

  • Fixed the fast Opengl blit for mac and re-enabled the setting
  • Added support for setting up a V-Sync mode

  • Updated Pre-Calculated Modifiers
  • Fixed some resolution issues in Korean

  • Import/Export players for the draft now able to edit HS/CO status, schools. Can export schools list from World Schools page to cross-reference
  • Added more logging to track down facegen issues.
  • Updated some historical exhibition settings/setup
  • Fixed some issues with manual player import in invalid years
  • Fixed online league files archive target update
  • Fixed scouting history player page display with scouting disabled
  • Improved memory usage on new game creation
  • Adjusted FIP/WAR calculations, to better adjust for park factors, and better balance in older eras.
  • PT: Added option to select Variants Level > 0 in boost page
  • PT: Added Variant Watchlist
  • Misc roster updated, misc bug fixes, UI fixes

Important info for online leagues: This patch should be compatible between versions, however it is always recommended that all league members update to the latest version
Important info for mac users: With this change, we have made some changes to increase the in-game frame rate on macs. You may notice smoother game action. However, this may also cause some machines to do more work. If you are noticing your machine running hotter than expected, we recommend to go to the File->Settings, in the 3D tab, and setting an FPS limit to 60 or 120 (depending on your monitor). That should still leave good performance while not taxing the machine as much.

Here's a PC installer (Fastspring) that installs into a single folder, which is useful for external HDs for example. Or for creating a second test install of the game, so you can try the patch out without the risk of messing up your main install of the game if something is wrong in the patch:

I'm having the same issue many people reported in March about being unable to successfully start a Challenge Mode league.

I click on Challenge Mode and it shows the Challenge Mode logo during league setup. But once I'm in the league, there's no Challenge Mode indicator and I can go into Commissioner Mode.

It's possible this just got borked again on our end somehow, so we can take a look and fix this up if it did.

It's also possible this comes from an incomplete install, in which case going to settings > troubleshooting > force reinstall game data might fix things.

I did the force reinstallation and rebooted the game without success. If I'm the only one with the problem, I can move this discussion to the tech support board.

Hey guys. I think there is still an issue with scouting history player page with scouting disabled. There is a discrepancy from the old OOTP 25 values and the current OOTP 26 values. I'm having trouble inserting a screenshot from my game, but I uploaded it to a weblink.

As you can see the top column reflects OOTP 26 ratings which show up on the main player page. The ratings below and the rating changes beneath are from the previous version I believe. There is an adjustment made to get it to the OOTP 26 rating which displays on the top.

scouting still does not work like previous versions with the combine turned off. anywhere from 6 to 10 times scouting to get accuracy to go from Low to High still cant get any player to very high.

Maybe it shouldn't work like previous versions? Should you really be able to have "Very High" accuracy scouting on an amateur player?

I see the same issue with scouting on normal. The development report numbers on the bottom of the scouting tab never match up with the scouting history from the same date at the top of the tab. As far as I can remember, this has been the case since launch of OOTP26.

We still have to wait for the catcher to walk all the way back to the plate after a wild pitch. It's minor, but also a huge waste of time.

It certainly is. And.... one a 20 t0 80 scal, there is absolutely no sane reason for someone to have an 85 designation,

Can you share some details on the changes? I know that FIP-based WAR for pitchers "ought" to have a different park factor than for wRC+-based WAR for hitters.

That is subjective...and guess what...you have a setting where you are able to choose whether that happens.
