Affiliation Help

I was wondering if there is any way to have the following setup in OOTP.

I want to have a standalone academy-style league where young players start their careers while earning a degree.

I want the clubs from this league to be affiliated to a major league club but I also want this Academy league to have certain aspects of independence rather than be totally beholden to the parent league.

Mainly, I want it to have the ability to hold its own rookie draft each year, completely unrelated to the separate one at the MLB level.

I have tried various things, including setting it up as an international league but it seems as soon as you affiliate it there goes all independence.

Any experience in trying to achieve something like this or insights on potential workarounds would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, I do not think this is doable as described. You can probably get close but I think you'd always have to make a few tradeoffs.
