Catch Me Up?

Hey ya’ll, longtime player here.
I think I started with OOTP 3, when I was like 11, then got the game yearly starting with maybe OOTP 2006? Anyway, I took last year (and maybe the year before) off. I honestly haven’t been following the MLB much the past few years, which is probably part of the reason I stopped buying the game, but all of a sudden I’ve got the urge to jump back in!
Just wondering, what are the major changes to the game I should be aware of over the last 2 years? I like to create my own fictional, sprawling baseball universe, usually starting in the late-1800s, adding many leagues and deleting plenty over time as well, until I get to modern day. At that point I usually have a Major League with a full minors system and around a dozen foreign leagues. Can you catch me up?
