Activation Error?

I've already been playing OOTP 26 but when I opened the game today, it made me enter my license key again and when I did, I received an "Activation Error" which reads as follows (also attached a screenshot of what I'm seeing):

"Failed to validate request because the time between server and client is not synchronized. The difference in time is 242627 seconds but the maximum allowed is 10800 seconds."

What does this mean and why am I getting this error? It keeps happening even if I exit and re-open the game so I cannot play the game now. Can someone please assist?

UPDATE:
You can close this thread, I was able to resolve the issue through the OOTP website. Apparently this is a common error which happens when the computer's clock isn't right (can happen after a Windows update which was the case with me).

Do you know where I can look to find my license key number. I purchased OOTP thru Stream but cant play without entering license key

Thanks so much for posting this, I got this error today when trying to install an old version on a new computer, and I hadn't even noticed that my computer thought it was in Italia
