OOTP 26 Patch Released: 26.2.50

I hope everyone's spring is going well!

We are ready to release the next patch for OOTP 26, 26.2.50. This patch has updated rosters (if you start a new game), along with plenty of other fixes for Korean users, live starts, . And we have also done some changes to how the in-game experience runs, so you should hopefully see much smoother action in-game.

Update Info for our webstore customers: To apply the update, simply download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course. Updates always contain all the changes from previous updates. Saved games are compatible between different versions. Steam users the update should apply automatically when you next load up the game.

• Reverted Camden Yards upgrades (causing issues for Mac users - will investigate and update)
• Fixed inconsistency in potential ratings relative display
• Updated new KBO logo/uniforms
• Fixed FG models not appearing in-game
• Fixed player search issues
• Fixed PT Is Active filter
• Fixed crash advancing in some Tournaments
• Fixed extra items in player action list
• Fixed 3d stadium scoreboard count showing post-action result
• Fixed socks loading from colors.xml
• Added missing MLB manager records
• PT: fixed login reward text
• PT: fixed PT Live player sort and open game buttons
• PT: added nation to card export and the button “open folder” to the dialog
• PT: Fixed ask AI for strategy
• PT: Updated stamina calculation for early era tournaments
  ** Note: The server will be updated as well shortly for this issue to fix fully.
  ** Adjusts early era fatigue recovery so likely will need 4+ SP for most tournaments
• Misc UI fixes, text updates, and general fixes

Important info for online leagues: All league members need to update once the commish has updated.

Here's a PC installer (Fastspring) that installs into a single folder, which is useful for external HDs for example. Or for creating a second test install of the game, so you can try the patch out without the risk of messing up your main install of the game if something is wrong in the patch:

To expand a little re: the Orioles Park at Camden Yards - we have discovered an issue where for a number of mac customers the model crashes on their machines. Unfortunately we have not been able to isolate exactly what is triggering that, so for the moment, we have reverted that model back to a much earlier version, before the updated LF wall and without the dynamic scoreboard. We will work obviously to get those changes back in as soon as we can.

If any users who did not have issues with the park wish, they can re-download the former version from here: https://cdnfiles.ootpdevelopments.co...mden_yards.zip
You can simply unzip that to your data/ballparks/models folder and replace the files that came in this update.

Any more detail on this? This seems like it will have a huge impact on PT tournaments. When will the server side fix be pushed? The game is not very playable with incorrectly displayed stamina in this year's version considering pitcher stamina is so important early on so far.

Yes, our next investigation into development & aging will focus on defense, we have seen that it likely degrades too quickly. Certainly at the same time we can also investigate AI eval and usage as well.

Can you give us Historical Players any idea where the issues with the Draft Combine fall on the prioritization list? Same with manually imported draft classes having everyone with DH as their primary position.

Hello :-), technical issues after the latest patch:


- cannot load my save file from previous version of OOTP 26. It says I have to import the savegame from OOTP 25.


- when in main menu going on load game: only savegame names show up, not the current team, not the date of saving, not the date in-game. Only after loading the save once it shows up.


- In-game: hovering over a player, i.e.in lineups or wherever, the tooltip of the player does not show up, so I can´t see quickly his overall/potential and a few stats, so: tooltips of players don´t work anymore.


- Defense regresses too quickly ( but that is what you are already investigating as you wrote above )

It's possible something on your local machine got corrupted. You could try restoring the save from the auto-save folder, and seeing if it loads that way. The games not showing up in your local list could be related similarly - we store that information locally, so if something messed up writing to that, it could fail to load correctly until it can re-populate.

The in-game hover you can enable in the File->Settings menu, somewhere it must have gotten disabled.

I would suggest to also verify that you are not, for example, running out of disk space on your computer, all your issues potentially could be related to saving local files. Also potentially make sure you don't have any local folders that are corrupt or that you lack write permissions on.

Thanks Matt! Player Tooltips work after going over to settings. Somehow it switched. I have a few savegames and only one does not work anymore. This one could be corrupted somehow, don´t know why especially this one but not the others, but that´s fine then for me. It was a save game I played only a few in-game months. So, it didn´t mean the world to me ;-). I think I will start a long term save after the defense-thing has been fixed. Thanks!

Since the patch, on every play the camera cuts to the sky, effectively blanking out the screen, for something like 5 seconds.

Half way through the game, with the blue sky continuing to appear at each at bat, the whole game crashed.

It was stable before this patch.

Which stadium is this on? Is it all stadiums or just one? One of the ones that come with game or a mod? And do you have customs camera angles loaded or default ones?
