Relating to DFA issue

I had this happen today. I had a handful of players who the AI DFA'd who were out of time. I did not want to release those guys so I placed them back on a low minor roster. Problem is that when I mass moved them to another roster I got a message saying that Royce Lewis could not be demoted to that level because he was out of options, yada yada. Lewis was not in the group of players that I tried to demote. The next day the same thing happened except it was with Brooks Lee. When I went to look at players on waivers and free agents the next day, Lewis and Lee were both there. I clicked on both and it said I released them. I definitely did not release them myself so there seems to be a bigger issue with this DFA issue. Both players were on the ML roster.

I would guess you had Lewis and Lee selected already when you went to mass select the DFA guys. It's a pretty easy mistake to click and not realize it selected a player already.

If that's not the case, if you could potentially make a quick video to show the process, that might be helpful to us.

I did not have them selected. I had just opened up the game today when this happened. I was in the preseason phase when I opened it and was autoplaying up through the Spring Training games to get to the start of the season. I had not even touched my ML roster at the point this happened. I will pay close attention the next time the AI DFA's players and see if it happens again.

It happened again. I had DFA'd players to release and it also released Ozzie Albies. Something is amiss.

OK, I'm gonna have to wait on a patch because after putting Albies back on my roster on April 6th he was released again on April 13th after being forced to release AI DFA'd players again. I made sure to check to see if any ML players had a check by their name and nobody did. If you have any clues for me to check I will.

I just noticed that it also released my 3 star AAA first baseman when it released Albies the second time.

I went back and changed the other setting that was suggested earlier. I had originally changed ML player development focus to my control but left ML player strategy to Ai control. I thought it had improved with just that change but as time went on the problem came back and was even worse with it releasing players from my ML roster. So I changed ML player strategy to my control and played about a week or so and lo and behold I had people out of time on DFA. Two of them were 2.5 star players including a SP I wanted to keep. I placed them back on a roster and released the other two. I played one day and then looked. The 2 players were back in DFA and Albies was released again. I am done until a patch comes out. Hopefully you can find the issue soon.

Tell us the specific players that that you select, and that get released so we can try to recreate this. Thanks.

I will try to recreate the issue and record it. I've only seen it a few times and usually it was when reassigning multiple players to a lower level from DFA.

How do I upload the file? Never done that before.

Yes it is always when reassigning multiple players to a lower level from DFA. Players that the AI put on waivers even though I have myself checked to control signings and release of ML players I might add.

I started a historic league without real ML players and have not had this happen so far. Of course that is because the AI does not waive any players since the minors don't have full rosters at this point.

OK, AI DFA'd these players and I am going to play forward till they are out of time.

I traded a couple of those players when DFA time was up. There were 3 left. I clicked the circle to choose all 3 players and then grabbed them and dragged them to the bottom to release them. I then went to the transaction log and all three players were shown as released. Unfortunately, Ozzie Albies was shown as released again as well. I know his circle was not highlighted when I dragged the other players to release them because I checked beforehand.

I am pretty sure that the AI releasing players has to do with the amount of players on each team in the minors, especially the lowest levels. When I look at all these players that have been DFA'd, they never have any ML stats for any season.

Which specific files do you need?

Just went back to game and saw 3 empty spots in my lineups. I went to the transactions log and below is what I saw. I released a bunch of players trying to get my numbers at each level down earlier today. The problem is that 3 of my starters were released as well (Ozzie Albies, Royce Lewis, and Matt Olson). It seems that every time you drag and drop to release a group of players it also grabs some of your starters and releases them as well. I am trying to zip my league file and send it to google drive as we speak. I will post a link when it gets done.

I'm testing this out on the beta patch that will be released late, and this does not happen for me as long as any players not on the DFA list are not pre-selected. So please try again when that comes out.
