Systems
Hello,
I understand that better hockey teams will have more shots and Possession time, but do different tactical systems actually have an effect on the production of shots? Like a net front presence "fire everything at the net" type producing more shots than a only taking quality looks systems. Or is there no influence and what matters is how the specific players perform the tactic? And the tactic chosen has what amount of impact on the sim? |

There is such a high degree of vagueness and uncertainty within the game around tactics. I've been saying it for years and it feels too much of a guessing game.
It's difficult to know the extent and depth of how the sim and match engine incorporates tactical instructions. I buy this game every single year, but I find the whole crapshoot around tactics along with the poor design of various screens in the game infuriating. They just need to polish this stuff right up and get the game living up to it's full potential before building in more new features. |

Tactics and scouting are two very important areas that require significant improvements in my opinion. |

I don't worry about scouting other than making sure I have enough scouts. From there I set the financial bonus to 12 and let the AI do all the scouting. If my scouts are good enough I'll usually have almost all players fully scouted and pretty accurately.
