Signs you're spending too much time playing OOTP ...
I woke up this morning from the weirdest dream. For some reason I was jogging in Boston and ran into Garrett Crochet ... congratulated him on "escaping the dumpster fire." Then we took a selfie and I told him I had drafted him in OOTP and he was "developing nicely" lol wtf?

Been there before. I was watching an MLB game last season and couldn't figure out why a certain player wasn't playing, to then realize I had traded for the individual years prior in OOTP while he was in the minor leagues. Felt like a fool lol
I highly recommend you read The Universal Baseball Association, Inc. by Robert Coover as it covers this kind of stuff. |

This somehow reminds me of the related topic of too much focus on my fantasy team. I was enjoying a Phillies game, until my fantasy outfielder barreled into my fantasy catcher trying to score, and both ended up motionless on the ground. On a Monday, I might add, when our weekly rosters had just locked. I caught myself and realized I should properly be concerned with their health as human beings, not fantasy guys. They were fine. The other unpardonable sin is rooting for the away player who is on your fantasy team.

Thanks for the book recommendation!
Had to go through my local branch library, who were able to find the book for me in a different state. Took about a week to get here, but worth it. I have been enjoying is very much, so far, and I am sure any OOTP player will see parts of themselves within the text.
The copy I am reading has a number of different passages and phrases underlined with notes on the sides from a previous reader. In looking at those, I am not sure what they were doing. I'm sure that guy's team is lit! Best way to find it is to check with your local staff, as they could likely find it via that mechanism. |
