All my players and teams in leauge vanish after crash!

Good afternoon guys!


I'm trying to figure out how I can repair my fictional league after a bad crash. (seems it wasn't OOTP's fault, but an issue with my graphics driver taking a dump)

Let me set this up:

In the middle of a season. All of the sudden, the resolution on my screen goes wonky and I get a prompt that graphics driver has crashed. The game closes without a prompt. No big deal, this has happened before; I shut down, restart, etc. The only drawback is the previous day in my league was unsaved and I will lose that.

When I am back up and running, I restart OOTP but the game disappears again while loading the saved game I was in the middle of playing when the initial crash happened.

I restart again, the game loads, but I find all the players are gone, all but one of the teams are gone, and I am out of a job.

I have a backup of that league, but it was done at the beginning of the season, and I was currently in the middle of that season. I'd like to get it back to that point.

I imagine a file in the saved game was corrupted. Is there anyway to repair it with the backup and maintain my point in the season? Or am I SOL

I have no idea if this will work so be warned - but it sounds like you want the last auto-save and I think these are the steps to get to it. Let others chime in if not pressed for time just in case.:

UPDATE: Tried this. Didn't work.


Yeah, thanks chiming in, but I think I may be past the point of no return on that one... Unless there is a way to go back a number of auto saves. I generally auto-save every time I advance a day. However, after the crash, I haven't advanced a day and hence I haven't auto saved aside from opening and closing the game... so maybe there is hope!


Interesting though: I went back in and entered the teams back into the league corresponding with their ids and I got them back. The players came back with their corresponding teams with their current season stats as well. *BUT* here is the rub: The coaches and staff are gone, as well as the teams records. One team DID survive the crash, for some strange reason, and their record and staff still exist. The rest are gone.
