I've noticed when watching games in 2D that when an icing call occurs, quite frequently the offending team changes its line just before the ensuing face-off. This, of course, is not allowed in hockey. It doesn't happen every time, but it does occur frequently. It would be nice if this could be fixed.

Agreed. Add it to the growing list of 2D "things that should be fixed".

The 2D engine's supposed to be preventing that. I'll take a look, but have you noticed any particular circumstances where it seems to happen, e.g. later in the game, or if the AI seems to be doing that to line-match (as opposed to the players being tired)?

I should have mentioned that the problem with line change after an icing call was observed when viewing 2D under the "Few highlights" option. I'm not sure whether it occurs under the "Full" option. I try checking that.

I've checked and the line change problem does occur even under the Full view option.

I'd like to see the game follow the historical rules. Line changes after an icing were allowed prior to the 17-18 season. Similarly, prior to 56-57, a penalized player was not released from the box following a goal ("Montreal Canadiens rule"). In an Historical Game, the penalty is always ended after a goal.

Year-specific icing (and other non-penalty rules determined by league/era) probably won't make it into the next update, but I'm hoping we can get the penaltiy ones in, including the non-expiring minors prior to 1956.

This was fixed in an FHM 11 update, but it's back to the historically inaccurate rules in FHM 12. I'm playing the 55-56 season and power plays end immediately after a goal by the team with the man advantage.
