Starters as Relievers

Does it matter?

I generally try to have the highest rated relievers in my pen, vs higher overall SP.
ie. Reliever @ 97 > SP @101

Is this silly? I Notice that other teams winning have 13 starting pitchers.

Should I just be stacking every 101 pitcher I have as relievers, or is there an actual benefit to playing their correct position?

Play the best pitchers. Only play pure relievers over starters if they have better ratings than the starters that aren’t good enough to make the rotation

Mariano is my only reliever. My starters get a stuff boost.

Did they return to the stuff boost?

They abandoned that in PT20 or 21 because nobody used relievers.

It's pretty obvious to me that starters get a stuff boost when in the pen. Might not be as high as it once was, but it's still there.

It is important to have 1-3 true relievers in your pen if you are not actively managing your team. True relievers recover faster from an equivalent state of fatigue than starters turned relievers. If your team has an extended extra innings game, having these pitchers will save the team from going into an extended fatigue induced losing streak. Obviously, if you are actively managing you can just swap out for fresh pitchers, so this is not quite the issue.

Great point. Thanks.
