Minor league retirements

Why do minor league players retire before the end of the major league season? What if you have an injury and want to promote one of these guys late in the season? Shouldn't all retirements be tied to the major league offseason transition rather than any individual minor league's?

I understand you can unretire if you want but that's hardly the point now, is it? That certainly isn't how it works IRL. And given how subservient the MiLB structure is in every other way in OOTP, this seems to go straight against the grain.

Should be an easy enough fix, unless I'm mistaken. Hope it gets some consideration in upcoming patches or versions.

Bobby's 27 years old and he's been hoping for that injury for a long, long time. Sometimes you just gotta let it go, get the real job, ask Susie to marry you... But seriously, every minor league has an off-season for the coding to tie to. Guaranteed. Not every minor league season ends before the ML in every universe and many minor leagues don't have affiliations. I suspect that's the simple answer.
