Was happening to me in FHM 10 too.. I negotiate a player to a contract, and then he sends me a message saying " Hello, the canucks have offered me XYZ, you better pay me more if you want me to sign with you." when I am playing as the canucks already.

In Manager Options, do you guys have the "Transactions" setting on yourself or the Assistant? Any other settings on Assistant?

I had Lineups,Trades, and Drafting set to manager with the rest to my assistant
