OOTP 25 Public Beta Patch (Version 25.10.95) Available!

Important: This patch is only for OOTP 25 versions which were purchased directly from us or resellers who use our version. It is also available via the Steam client with the public password below.

Hi everybody!

We've been working on further improving the game, and here is a public beta for the upcoming patch, version 25.10.95.

Important info for online leagues: This version is compatible with previous versions.

Use this at your own risk! Please back up important league files before loading them in this beta.

Changelists 25.10.95:

• Fixed some issues in classic 3D mode where players would sink under the field
• Reduced velocity decline among younger players
• Tweaked player contract demands for pre-FA top level players
• Updated historical database
• Adjusted some player creation/development modifiers for long term balance
• Adjusted fictional league pitcher babip influence
• Fixed Live Start issues
• Fixed players created with 255 pro service years
• Fixed some issues with using Neutralized stats with minors enabled
• Fixed some pre-game handling of two-way players in lineup screen
• Fixed crash when loading corrupted logo files
• Fixed some issues when manually assigning IAFA players to teams
• Fixed issues when historical games missing park factors
• Misc bugfixes & tweaks

How to access the beta on Steam:

• Quit OOTP 25 if it's running.
• Open Steam client -> Library
• Right click on Out of the Park Baseball 25
• Click on "Properties" at the bottom of the menu
• Click on the beta tab. Here, enter the following code / password: ootp25betapt
• Click on "Check code"
• Open the beta pull-down and select "publicbeta".
• Close the Steam client (Steam menu -> Exit)
• Open the client again. It should then download the beta build.

Update Info for our webstore customers: To apply the update, simply download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course. Updates always contain all the changes from previous updates. Saved games are compatible between different versions.

Here's a PC installer (Fastspring) that installs into a single folder, which is useful for external HDs for example. Or for creating a second test install of the game, so you can try the patch out without the risk of messing up your main install of the game if something is wrong in the patch:

Can someone direct me to a post/thread regarding this issue? I'm curious to see the exact behavior that prompted this fix as I haven't really seen anything too out of the ordinary in my sim.

The main changes to the historical DB are related to some incorrect stat lines in 2022, but we also cleaned up a few other items. Generally speaking, if you are before then, you shouldn't need to restart to pick up the changes.

That linked to a wrong place, yes. It was mostly related to people who saw some players demand like 80m deals in arbitration, often related to players who signed from foreign leagues but didn't exhaust their arbitration years. It tones down those demands to not be quite as egregiously out of line.

Gotcha. Thanks Matt. Was wondering if it was a more overarching general, not era specific pre-FA offers thing to buy out arb years or something a bit more specific. Sounds like the latter and I probably didn't encounter playing older historical. Appreciate the reply.

Just curious... once this beta patch is finalized, are there expected to be any more patches for OOTP25? I have a long-running league where I play out every game, and I always wait until the final patch before importing to the next version just to be extra safe. Thanks!

Hard to say. There could always be emergency patches if a major bug is found.

is there any changes to the default current day database? Mostly interested if anything's been added to the draft classes? I might try and work on a NCAA league over the winter

Are we absolutely sure players aren't supposed to be sinking into the fields? Quicksand was a pretty prominent thing when I was growing up.
