"Quick" Draft tournaments use a slot and never start

Hi,

I assume this is a very known problem that only really affects newbies since after you fall into it once you learn quickly to NEVER do a quick draft again lest lose out on a tournament slot effectively indefinitely.

It looks like the goal of "quick" draft tournaments is to let players sign up and jump right into a draft without a predefined start time - intended to start ASAP. However the rewards for these tournaments are next to nothing compared to the daily/weekly/monthly drafts so no one signs up, and they take a slot just like those other drafts.

Is there any way we could just... remove these? or stop them from taking up a draft tournament slot or simply have them be their own limited entry category separate from the timed tournaments?

It's a huge bummer being a new player and seeing these tournaments - some with a dozen out of 32 signed up already - and then hitting that sign up button and being locked out effectively forever. You can't withdraw after doing the draft, and you can't force it to start because there is no timer. It's like purgatory because you're a newbie who didn't scroll down to the actual timed draft mode with much greater rewards.

I consider this to be a bug because if you were foolish enough to sign up for three without any other players in them you effectively get locked out of that mode indefinitely. There should at minimum be a timer, or an option to back out after x amount of time. It's not quick. It breaks a portion of the game.

Which one are you trapped in? I don't use my tourney slots often (I've been pretty passive this year in PT). Let's see if people can join to start it and set you free.

Oof, I've been stuck in one for '24 for about a month now...
Seconding the idea for an expiration date or something.

I joined to try and flush him out. Was 17/32 midday today. Up to 25. It is PD-Q-Bo7-T32-ID774 if others want to help him out too.

Quick Drafts are currently slow to fill up and can take a day to do so.
Maybe the next tournament refresh can update the rewards to make those more attractive to compete in again.
Currently in PT25 you are not trapped in those indefinitely.

But in like PT24 (due to the lower player base) I can see the possibility that you are stuck in one (or many), so it makes sense to add the ability to leave or automatically disband such drafts after a certain time.
