PUBLIC BETA: OOTP 25 Patch (25.9.90) (Updated)

Important: This patch is only for OOTP 25 versions which were purchased directly from us or resellers who use our version. It is also available via the Steam client with the public password below.

Hi everybody!

We're continuing to update items, and here is a public beta for the upcoming 9th patch, version 25.9.89. This adjusts some of the issues from the last patch and that have been discussed on the forums, as well as includes a few more quality of life features.

Important info for online leagues: This version is compatible with previous versions.

Use this at your own risk! Please back up important league files before loading them in this beta.

Changelist 25.9.90:

• Fixed teams too aggressively releasing young players
• Updated Fan Interest calculations (more lenient to new signings)
• Updated injury prone calculations
  • only impacts players moving forward
  • More lenient to smaller/random injuries
  • Slight adjustment of prone ratings calculation based on injury settings (playing on high injury should cause each injury to have slightly smaller impact on prone calculations)
• Updated in-game ball difficulty/position impact of OF
• Fixed 2025+ game schedules start dates
• Fixed historical exhibition incorrect stats/strategy year default
• Fixed OSA rescouting players too frequently
• Updated in-game RP usage to avoid players having extended stretches without playing
• Fixed Live Update players having stats on wrong teams
• Fixed CSV export for PBABIP
• Adjusted some development speeds
  • Young players should develop to moderate ratings faster
  • Slightly reduced aggressive talent shifts
  • Reduced velocity decline
• PT: Fixed PP balance not updating on buy orders
• PT: Fixed crash adding players to card combinator attempts
• PT: Support for new tournament modes
• PT: Misc UI improvements
  • Added option to hide completed missions in card shop mission dropdown
  • Misc places noting duplicates
  • Added “Last Opened Packs” page
  • Added Limited Edition page to show how many copies remain of active LE cards

How to access the beta on Steam:

• Quit OOTP 25 if it's running.
• Open Steam client -> Library
• Right click on Out of the Park Baseball 25
• Click on "Properties" at the bottom of the menu
• Click on the beta tab. Here, enter the following code / password: ootp25betapt
• Click on "Check code"
• Open the beta pull-down and select "publicbeta".
• Close the Steam client (Steam menu -> Exit)
• Open the client again. It should then download the beta build.

Update Info for our webstore customers: To apply the update, simply download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course. Updates always contain all the changes from previous updates. Saved games are compatible between different versions.

Here's a PC installer (Fastspring) that installs into a single folder, which is useful for external HDs for example. Or for creating a second test install of the game, so you can try the patch out without the risk of messing up your main install of the game if something is wrong in the patch:

I think what I would like to see more than anything is more randomness in development speed. It's definitely too slow in the game as it is, but it would be most accurate if there's a wide range of development curves, with some (few) players breaking into the league at 19-20, and others as late as their late 20s. Feels like players develop very similarly which takes away from the strategy and realism. I thought the last patch was a step n the right direction in terms of TCR so I hope the new patch doesn't revert back too much in that aspect.


Of course, great job by the devs as always for being responsive to the community.

It sounds like you would enjoy having feeder leagues. Calibrating feeder leagues takes some work, but it is 100% worth it if you care about seeing more randomness in prospect development paths.

That generally happens when the download doesn't finish (or is in process and you open the folder where it is going).

In new fictional leagues there are some young players (17/18) being created with their Professional service time set at 255.
