Trade Option

Playing a 70's decade save. Recalc after each season based on real stats. I am currently in May of 1971. My starting lineup is as below.

Joe Morgan - 2B
Reggie Jackson - CF also Cesar Cedeno
Roberto Clemente - RF
Willie Stargell - LF
Rico Petrocelli - 3B
Manny Sanguillen - C also Ted Simmons
Lee May - 1B
Freddie Patek - SS

Starters

Steve Blass
Dock Ellis
Mickey Lolich
Catfish Hunter
Dustin Bates - high rated fictional pitcher, possibly highest rated pitcher on staff.

I have a trade opportunity. Take out all $, what are your thoughts? I would get Pete Rose, to play LF, and Stargell would move to 1B. I give up Lee May and Steve Blass. Claude Osteen would step in for Blass. Defensive gain in LF, but defensive loss at 1B. Would Osteen be enough to replace Blass this year? I think this is a good move for the decade, but also trying to win it all in 1971. Thoughts please?
