Rehab from 60 IL Day Question
My pitcher, who is on the 40-player list, but has only appeared in the minors leagues this year, the game wants him to be placed on the MLB active roster. The rehab time is up. Can someone explain to me why he has to be placed on the MLB active roster?

I've not done a Historical start game, but I know in Modern, if on MiLB DL, it's only 7 days. That appears to be MLB DL, which adds up since you MiLB rehabbed him, so they expect him to be placed back on the active roster.

I think you should be able to DFA him without having to put him through waivers, since he has options. Just designate him for assignment and move him back to AAA. Did you try that?

You have to move him to "stop" the rehab assignment. If he still has options left, you can probably move him up to the majors and back down immediately without even having to DFA him.

The only way it worked for me was to move him to the active roster and back to AAA. I had to create room on the active roster by sending a player down and then back up. I did not try the DFA but I don't want to lose him either.
