It appears as if you do your expansion a little different then this site explains. How do you go about it? Just curious as that is all that is stopping me from doing a historical replay (career wise).
Thanks in advance.

Just curious as that is all that is stopping me from doing a historical replay (career wise). Thanks in advance. I follow the expansion tutorial as far as creating the new teams. In short - Step 1 -proceed to next season as normal assigning rookies to their original teams. All expansion team rookies will end up in the free agent pool. Step 2 - Go to edit league setup and add 1 team in the division or league you want it to be in. Go to that teams (it will be called New Team) team setup screen and name it what it should be called (ie Colorado Rockies). Make sure you use the proper short name (ie COL) specified in the database. Go back to edit league setup and add the next team. Step 3 - Assign all rookies in the free agent pool to their proper expansion team. I then go to each existing team and release enough players to have an expansion draft. I look for two or three things - 1) players stuck in the minors with arrows by their names indicating they are ready for promotion. 2) players I feel deserve a change of scenery and would likely be exposed in an expansion draft and 3)players who really did play for the expansion team. I treat each team fairly. For example I did not release Otto Velez to the draft in 1977 even though he was a Blue Jay expansion pick because he was on the verge of stardom with the Yankees. I finish things off by manually signing the free agents to expansion teams. I conduct it as a draft taking players as I feel the GM of the team would but also putting an emphasis on those who really played for the expansion team. Remember if you have finances turned on to turn them off prior to releasing players so it does not hurt the established teams. You will also have to set last year financials for the expansion teams so they can make money and you will have to create or generate a new schedule. Expansion is real easy but always make a backup of your league just in case...
