offseason concerns

Hi there, about to enter into my first offseason in OOTP 25 and I was looking to make a big splash in free agency as a GM. But i don't see anything in the offseason calendar for free agents filing or for winter meetings or anything that was in OOTP 22 (which is what i had been using).
Did I miss setting something up? Is there something I need to enable?
This is related to my earlier question about financials being disabled https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=356612

appreciate any help on this
thanks

If financials are disabled, then there's no free agency, etc... You must have somehow gone in and disabled them. You can re-enable them when the league progresses to the pre-season (you can either wait until then, or you could manually schedule the pre-season start event earlier to force it there). You may need to go in and edit some things, since running without financials you might have some inconsistencies with player contracts, team financials, etc...

thank you so much. perhaps I will simply try again with a new season and start fresh.

But in theory, I could schedule a preseason event for like Oct. 30 and then have free agency? How would I do that?

thanks

If you schedule the preseason event and turn financials on again, it should get things back, but you will mostly have missed the off-season - ie. players won't be released as free agents, contracts might not necessarily advance fully. I'm not sure it would feel like a real free agency period.

Maybe starting over is the right move then.
