NCAA signing day question
In year 2 of an NCAA franchise, I nominated a player on signing day, without a scholarship, and got the Congrats notice that they chose me. The player didn't show up in the draft log after my pick, and after the draft, didn't show a contract starting for the next season.
I noticed this happened a bunch of times to other teams, where they nominated a player, but then it didn't show up in the draft log, and they didn't have a contract for next season with that team. Is this supposed to be a sign they didn't get in academically (although the player in question for my nomination had high INT I think), or is it something else? |

No, the academic check is a separate process (and the player needs to be on a roster for it to happen, so that's not what's happening here.) If there's no scholarship offered, the player may refuse the signing and wait for the following year, but you're normally notified of that.
