Here is the 1929 ballot for the HBL Hall of Fame. Thanks to all who have been voting-I hope everyone is enjoying the league so far. There is a very short list of new candidates, but they may both be shoo-ins. Here they are:
Tris Speaker- Tris was an OF for the Cleveland Indians from 1921 to 1928. He was named an Outfielder of the Year 3 times. He was named to 2 All-Star Teams(1-3, 1T, 1R). He holds the Cleveland season records for: Batting Average(.377), Doubles(56), Triples(19), and Runs(131). As of the end of 1929, he ranked 5th in BA, 1st in Hits, 2nd in RBI, 1st in Doubles, 2nd in Triples, 2nd in Walks, 1st in Runs, and 6th in SB. CAREER STATS : Zack Wheat- Zack was an OF for the Brooklyn Dodgers from 1921-1928. He was named an Outfielder of the Year 2 times. He was named to 3 All-Star teams(3-3, 1HR, 1R, 2RBI). He was named a Batter of the Month 2 times in his career. He holds the Brooklyn season record for: RBI(125). As of the end of 1929, he ranked 25th in BA, 4th in Hits, 12th in HR, 4th in RBI, 6th in Doubles, 4th in Triples, 24th in Walks, and 7th in Runs. CAREER STATS : Also, held over from last year are Frank Baker, Bill Doak, Bobby Veach, Rube Benton, Rube Marquard, Lefty Tyler, Harry Hooper, and Del Pratt. Benton, Marquard, Tyler, Hooper and Pratt will be removed from the ballot if they don't get any votes. Information on Baker and Doak can be found here: http://www.ootpbb.com/board/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic&f=2&t=000098 Information on the others can be found here: http://www.ootpbb.com/board/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic&f=2&t=000103 I will keep the voting open for a couple of days or so....thanks!!!

Speaker -- 3500 hits is tough to argue.
Wheat -- if you hit .302 in over 9000 AB, and get 2900+ hits, you oughta be in. Baker Will
