Low, Low, Low Attendance Issues

I started a historical franchise with the 1990 Detroit Tigers and I noticed that the reported attendance is incredibly low, even on Opening Day. After the first week, here are the attendance numbers:

April 2nd vs. Boston (Opening Day): 9,950
April 4th vs. Boston: 3,476
April 5th vs. Boston: 4,855
April 6th at New York: 4,600
April 7th at New York: 6,100

By the way, the New York Yankees for their home opener against Cleveland on April 3rd drew 9,662 fans. This seems to be happening everywhere across the league. Either this is a bug, or in my fictional universe, most living people hate baseball, have never heard of it, etc. I did check that the baseline attendance number per game is 26,046.

I noticed the same issue in a 1988 historical sim with the Tigers which I quit over the same thing.

EDIT: I realized that I did not import financials upon setting up the game. When I did this with a 1991 sim, the Detroit Tigers opening day attendance (39,485) was more realistic.
