Some thoughts...
I always read the message boards, never really posted, but find they're mostly about the negative things regarding the game instead of the positives. Though I tend to agree with most things already posted, I wanted to post some thoughts to the forum about the improvements made and see everyone's reactions.
- Great release this week with tons of new content, multiple do-able pack reward missions to provide good packs to the masses, achievable negro league missions if you invested in the set 1 release which you had weeks to do, cool topper card that will definitely play due to Walker's HRA stats. Making OOTP fun again, much needed and well done. - The tournament builder, which I understand had some early kinks to work out, is a great idea and very useful. Whoever thought of this deserves a raise and makes the customization of your teams so much easier than in years past. Really like this feature and see it only improving in the years to come, a great tool to use. Introduce some non-combo or limited combo quick, daily and weekly options and we are in business. - The Card Shop is greatly improved and continues to get better. Came a long way in last year's version, and I love the feature to sort SE cards into their own category which was recently introduced. In the past two years, this has come a long way and is rarely talked about, nice work devs. - I've never really spent much investment in PT Live, but this year's version with the pack rewards for weekly and monthly makes it more fun and worthwhile. Maybe the only time I've actually spent PP on live players that I didn't need, just for the PT Live stats. I'm still a little unsure when the All-Time gets paid out, but it's nice to have some rewards associated with this feature other than a couple hundred PPs. Doesn't take long to do, and I still have difficulty finishing anywhere near the top, but a cool idea and implementation for those who want to do it. - Though I have seen some negative comments regarding this, I like the 25th Anniversary cards and the throwback cards. It's kinda cool to see a card I recognize or used in previous years, has the cool sticker on them, a good idea from the content team. They're also not insanely priced (except for the 100's, which are true for most) due to them not being immediately in a collection mission, which was a smart move. Not sure what people's problem is with them, I like the feature personally, but to each their own. Sorry about such a long post, just wanted to bring some positivity to the forum. Understand all the complaints, but thought maybe we could have a thread about the reasons we like playing instead of why we don't for a change. Feel free to agree or disagree, I won't be offended.

I appreciate your post and agree that every year there are some things to like. Speaking for myself only, I would not still be here with critiques if I did not still like PT. I am a squeaky wheel because I want to continue to like PT. Present ownership is making it harder every year for me to do so. As the tipping point comes nearer, I will likely squeak more because I am not getting oiled. This is entirely because I do like the game.

I'll not offend you, davey. I just retired from PT. The reason has very little to do with PT and a lot to do with my other activities regarding the game.
PT takes an enormous time commitment, one that I can no longer give. I'll keep my teams active from year to year, but put very little time in...to be supportive of it. I play the core game. I make skyboxes. I am working on a couple of quickstart ideas. While I'm retired and in theory have unlimited time, I have a blue heeler and a kelpie who need me all day. In the evening, my wife is my great supporter and I enjoy every moment with her. I also strive to stay informed and pursue my other hobbies—gardening, digital art, and writing. Also, like many folks my age, health issues have arisen. These also take time. Something had to give, and it was PT. I feel an enormous sense of loss since I've been there since the beginning. I'm truly liking the card designs this year. They're far and away the most visually pleasing to me. The other PT new features, like some before them, are simply going to take time to iron out. They're good ideas. I think some are not quite ready for prime time, but the principles are great. I still read the PT forums, though not as often. Since I'm not participating, I'll make few comments. I spoke up on your post because I'm always glad to see new players want positivity. New blood is the future of the game.

In terms of the nuts and bolts, PT's getting better and better. The roster manager is a hugely welcome addition, and I think a triumph in it's simplicity.
I also think it's well worth mentioning that's it's been cool to have usable live cards in the early going. IMO that aspect has been well balanced to give some interesting choices - mainly in tournaments and PDs. The general contrast between historical and modern is a dynamic that I like for the extra gameplay, figuring out who works in what format.
