Astronomical Value on Draft Picks

Has anyone else who has draft pick trading enabled noticed — or, rather, felt — that the AI's price for trading draft picks is significantly steeper than in prior versions of the game? The AI is likewise asking for league-wide top 500 prospects for minor league filler in many cases. I know you have to give to get, but it feels out of whack. I haven't touched the difficulty sliders for trades.

For historical games you will be able to draft a really great player in the first round and even a HOF player in the top 3 picks, so there needs to be a high asking price in historical games.

I cannot comment about other game modes though.

Yeah, I'm more referring to picks in rounds 3-5 or so. I rarely go for 1sts for that reason, as I think they're justifiably expensive.

Not a comment on the game, but given the team-building approach you take you might find this fangraphs article about the valuing of draft picks interesting:
