I have downloaded and available all of the old-time parks (provided by Mr. Silvam?), but even though they worked fine in 24, when I load them in 25 the stands are shown in glorious color but the field itself is pitch black and obviously unusable. Anyone else encountered this? There must be a remedy, but no matter what I try nothing works.

You're loading them wrong.

Wow, that was helpful. Better no response (like all the others) than something like that. Usually, when I have a problem, I get helpful, instructive advice from folks who take the time to respond. Have a nice day.

This problem could be hard to troubleshoot. It would be helpful to know the specs on your computer, in case it’s a hardware (video card) issue. I play on Macs and a PC, and the whole setup and import process is very different, and prone to (human) error on the former. That said, everything looks better on the Macs.
It could be a problem downloading the parks, or saving the files, or accessing them from the game. What is your file setup for downloaded ballparks? Do you have the older parks in a separate folder from newer parks? Does this only happen on the older parks? Only on the Silvam parks (which are glorious!)? Any issues on modern parks? Problems only in 3D? How do you choose the park through settings? My usual approach is to use the ballpark editor on the team settings page, and then to select the park diagram, night, day, 3D files and test. Once in awhile I load the wrong file. That can yield some odd graphics sometimes. There are other paths. Have you provided feedback to Silvam on his thread? I have found that he is very attentive and hands-on, and he of course has seen and heard all sorts of complaints and answered questions and provided guidance. I’ll bet that he has seen this kind of thing before. You could also search that thread to see if there is discussion of your issue there. I hope these suggestions are helpful to you. I mostly muddle through these kinds of things and frequently end up on these forums searching for answers. Somehow, with the collective wisdom and personal experience, things seem to get fixed.

You are so great to respond in such great detail, but I’m afraid I can’t be of much help in relaying technical data. Basically, I have no problem with current parks, just the older ones (that I had absolutely no problem with in OOTP 24 but then ran into roadblocks with in 25). Sometimes one of the older park names will end with an .obj or sometimes a .pod. Sometimes just the park name is listed but sometimes it also lists texture, day, night, etc.! This is something that someone with your skills could fix in about 10 seconds if you had access to my computer. But since that isn’t possible, I will reread your message and experiment and perhaps hit the jackpot. Again, thanks for being so kind and generous with your time!

jim, the problem may be with the version of silvan's parks you're using. The ones that are not 1.4 or higher have the older style graphics and tend to have blackish fields. Check and see if you downloaded the older ones. Replace 'em with the 1.4's if you did.
