Using commissioner mode, how can I remove players from my active and 40-man roster?

Following a fantasy draft for each league to start my fictional universe, the game automatically filled out my active and 40-man rosters with players. Is there any way to undo that so I can add the players I want to the roster and not have to risk the players I don't want to waivers since they shouldn't have been on the roster in the first place? I also am not sure if I'd need to revert any contract that were automatically upgraded to major league contracts. I assume this is something I can do easily in commissioner mode but am afraid I'll guess the wrong process and do more harm than good.
