setting rosters
'm playing a game (season) where I've customized the MLB rosters and lineups with all human managers. I have set the game to Commissioner control and human manager of all teams, yet when I hit the continue button to move to the next day on the schedule, AI is making changes to the rosters I have set up. What am I missing?

There may be other ways to do this, but in my experience if you don't want AI managers to changes rosters, lineups, rotations, etc., you need to a assign a separate human manager to each team. That said, there may be ways to keep AI from doing things by using the Prevent Any AI Roster Changes checkbox on the team's Home > Settings panel, but a) I'm not that familiar with it, and b) I believe that means you'd have to micromanage every team, including figuring out a lineup because a guy is missing a game due to a short-term injury.
In my case, I create managers for certain teams so I can have the ability to keep AI from releasing a bunch of guys and signing others (IOW, I want to keep certain rosters historical), but I want AI to be free to set the lineups, rotation, and so forth... Others on this board will probably have better/additional information for you ![]() |

Stop AI from setting rosters
Checking that box for each team worked. Thanks for the help. This is my 4th year using the game and I don't remember seeing or having to check that before. Thanks again.

Ya, that check box has been around for a long time. But it may have been moved at some point. Last edited by thehef; 05-09-2024 at 06:03 PM. Reason: clarity |
