Play Ball! Commishes wish to thank their owners for.........

making an initial draft, that usually takes WEEKS, last only 9 days, 3 of which were a holiday weekend!

Your punctuality and interest, coupled with Chris Gattuso's draft utility led us to run through 25 rounds of picks in only 9 calendar days.

If this is any indication of the work ethic of this group of owners, and I think it is, then this league will be far!

Again, thanks to all the owners of Play Ball! and let's get ready for opening day!!

To everyone else: If you haven't been by the site, come on over, register on the forum and get involved in this great 1954 historical league!

We welcome all who'd like to participate by writing articles, becoming Asst. GM's, or just vulturing around and enjoying the baseball friendships that occur.

We'd love to have you over to...............Play Ball!

PS If you have any links to OOTP sites, while you at our site pop into the 'Links' area and add them to our collection of links! We have sections for historical, fictional, and present-day leagues, as well as general OOTP links.

That Draft Utility comes in handy big time when you can access the internet, but not the game. I think the combination of the utility and the 60 minute time limit per pick played a big part in how fast we got done.

Spleeny,

Are you going 'avatarless' now?

Put up the 'ol Cardinal and show some Play Ball! pride!

Honestly, I was unaware that I am 'avatarless'. I don't show avatar's because I look at this board a lot form owrk and I don't want someone seeing any almost naked chics over my shoulder. I'll find an avatar I like. It may not be a Cards logo. Speaking of Cards, I'm going to the game on June 7 against the O's. The price was right, FREE!

You know that June 7 game is a throwback day, right? I envy you!!! O's are going to don their Browns unis to commemerate the 50th Anniversary of the Brownies last year in St. Louis and Cards are going to follow suit by wearing classic unis, too....

I didn't know it was a throwback game. That's makes it even better! I haven't seen the O's since '98 when they played interleague in ATL. This should be a good time!

Jump on the league site, register, and get involved with the league and that will help you to get a team should a vacancy arise.

I think if you'll explain to the tyke that we have a special friendship and that we need our 'bonding' time at the 'ol ballpark, he'll understand.

If he doesn't, you haven't raised him right.

Yeah. Okay. I might be able to get him to understand and go along with it. I really think I can do this. There's one problem.

There's no way in hell my wife is going to go for it.

Once again, I think if you'll use your power of persuasion and your managerial skills (as evidenced by your glowing record as an OOTP GM), you'll win her over too.

...and if that doesn't work, threaten to cut her off!

.........but if you're scared of her..................
