Pickoff attempts to follow current rules?

Last year, MLB changed the rules regarding how often a pitcher can throw to first base with a pickoff attempt, with 2 "engagements" per baserunner. If a pitcher attempts a 3rd engagement and does not pick the runner off, they are automatically awarded 2nd base.

As of now, I will attempt 3-4 pickoffs in a row with a speedy baserunner, just to see if I can "steal" an out. Is there a setting for this in the game (I haven't seen one) where we can follow this current rule? If not, could it be built into either an upcoming patch or OOTP26?

I can't find the thread via search, but at some point last year or the year before when it was announced one of the devs posted they weren't going to introduce the pick off limits.

If they've changed their mind I haven't seen so and there doesn't seem to be any plans to implement it in 25.

More MLB stupidity.

Baseball is not Baseball anymore with these ridiculous rules. I include putting a man on 2nd base in extra innings without earning it.

Yup. Just terrible. Stopped watching about 7 years ago.

Well, regardless of many of our opinions here, if its in the real game, I'd love to have the option. Not sure if its a difficult fix, as I learned regarding knowing who my opposing team may have warming up in the bullpen, but would love to hear from a developer on that if they have a second.

I agree, the engagement rule for pick-offs should be included with OOTP if possible.

On the topic of "if it's in the real life then it should be in the game....."

I'd still like to see that extra roster spot implemented for the 2nd game of a double header, but hey.

The lack of the extra player is one of the reasons I pretend every stadium has a retractable roof and I eliminate rainouts.
