It's not fun to be playing purchased teams in week 3

I'm up against divisional teams with all 100s and 90 players in an Iron League already? I thought the fun of this game was collecting cards.

At the very least, you should be able to collect whatever, but like in PT live, you can play only two 100s and four Diamonds etc down the line.
,
Otherwise, it's just another game for those who want to pay money for points.

I know that benefits OOTP, but it takes away from the fun. It's just started, so it's crazy to see teams with so many 100s starting.

Well...it IS just another game where you pay money for points. It's also possible that those three teams got that good through card pulls by winning tournaments and collecting Twitch drops. I haven't spent anything and am fielding a team that's Gold and above except for one reliever. If my card luck was better, I'd also have a Perfect or two.

This is not difficult to do without spending money. If they had spent real money, then they would have all 100's. Statistically, only 2% of players spend any money beyond the cost of the game.

One of the issues you are facing is that you started your team during the first weekend. Had you waited until the following Monday, you wouldn't be facing so many experienced players and you would, at most, be in stone league.

Is that 2% number accurate? That's very cool that the playing field is close to equal. I would have guessed much higher than that.

It's not as hard as you think, OP. Granted, I started the first weekend with a small bump for having played a little PT in OOTP24, but I'm F2P and I attribute the bulk of my success to Twitch drops. (As of this writing, 89 Standard and 19 Silver packs. That's a LOT of cards.) I've picked up some here and there through tourneys, and I've grabbed some low-hanging fruit in the missions, but when you draw somewhere near 800 cards, you're going to end up with some good ones.

Definitely worth doing Twitch, and the stream hosts won't be at all bothered if you just tune in for the drops...though of course, interaction is better.

I usually run one tryhard team and two theme teams each year. I have more fun with the theme teams than competing with the whales. ymmv

What do you do to get points on twitch? Maybe that’s where I need to go

Link your Twitch account to OOTP, watch streams, collect cards. It's so easy even I could do it.

You don't get points, you earn packs, 5 to 10 a day or more on special occasions. Is it not explained in the sticky threads with twitch in the thread title?

If you're doing Twitch, make sure you also get the chrome extension for automatic twitch drops so you don't have to manually claim it every 15 minutes. I didn't see that mentioned in the twitch threads (maybe I missed it), but it's helpful if you're like me and are "at work" while most of the twitch streams go live and can't pay close attention the entire time.

How the Twitch drops works was changed months ago. They are no longer every 15 minutes and you can't claim the next one until you have claimed the last. They are now awarded at 15, 30, 45, 60 and 90 minutes and you can claim them up to 3 days after they are earned.

Actually, you get a notification for each, and the timer keeps accumulating, so I often claim the first 2-3 after watching 30-45 minutes or more. I've even claimed the entire set in one pass. So you don't have to watch like a hawk, you can relax and enjoy and pick them up later. You just can't mute or stop the stream, or the timer stops.

I will add that I do get your pain...there's some guy in my current bronze league whose team consists of a dozen or so perfects, the rest mid-to-high diamonds. Needless to say, they're winning games at close to a .900 clip. I'm just glad I'm not in their division.

My experience is that muting hasn't affected my drops. I *do* have to keep the window visible (meaning I can't start it in one tab and move on to work in another)I will sometimes run muted twitch streams on my phone while I'm working in the office. Works like a charm.

Can't speak for the other browsers, but Firefox keeps accumulating as long as a Twitch tab is open, regardless of whether it's the active tab or not and regardless of whether it's muted. Firefox also has an auto-collect feature that even reminds you when a Twitch drop has been claimed.
